Ashley Harvey
Partner & Co-Founder of Infinitude Hospitality
Ashley Harvey is Partner and Co-Founder of Infinitude Hospitality and Representative Director of Infinitude Hospitality Japan K.K. Based in Japan, he brings more than 25 years of experience spanning hotel commercial strategy, F&B revenue development, destination marketing, hospitality product development, resort planning, pre-opening and operations across Asia and the Middle East.
His connection with Japan began in Fukuoka in 1997. From 2000, he worked in Singapore and Hong Kong on hotel and tourism sales and marketing projects. Working closely with Fairmont Hotels, Raffles Hotel Singapore, Kowloon Shangri-La and The Langham Hong Kong, he developed commercial strategies focused on incremental revenue, particularly through food and beverage.
From 2012, as VisitBritain's Country Manager for Japan and Korea, Ashley led market development from the British Embassy in Tokyo. He coordinated public- and private-sector partners, strengthened travel-trade relationships and contributed to campaigns around London 2012 and Rugby World Cup 2015. The role deepened his expertise in source-market strategy, international partnerships and demand generation - capabilities directly relevant to hotel performance.
In 2016, Ashley moved into inbound tourism and hospitality development in Central Japan. Leading tourism development for Nagoya and the surrounding region, he focused extensively on hotel product development, market positioning and engagement with Japanese and international brands. He also advised regional and national stakeholders in connection with Rugby World Cup 2019 and Tokyo 2020.
In 2022, he worked on a large-scale real estate and hospitality master plan in Al Soudah, Saudi Arabia, involving 1,800 hotel keys and 2,200 villas and apartments. Since returning to Japan, he has added hands-on hotel management and pre-opening experience through properties in Kyoto, Hakone and Tateyama.
At Infinitude Hospitality, Ashley brings an owner-focused perspective to hotel development and performance. He has been involved in the operations of 128-key Kyoto property and a boutique, 24 key Ryokan turnaround project in recent years. He connects market demand, guest experience, commercial strategy and practical execution to help shape commercially viable hotel concepts, support successful openings and build long-term asset value. He also bridges international hospitality standards with Japan's business culture, stakeholder environment and guest expectations.
Ashley holds a degree from the University of Reading, an MBA from the University of Leicester and a Mini MBA in Marketing. A Japanese permanent resident, he has been based primarily in Japan since 2012.
